Visiting Weekends
We are so pleased that we plan to welcome visitors to camp again this summer!
If your son will be at camp for the full 7-weeks, we recommend that you plan a one-weekend visit. Families are welcome to visit on weekends to allow for wilderness trips and intercamp competitions during the week. Agawam does not have one specific visiting weekend, but we invite camper families to visit on any one of the following weekends:
July 13-14
July 20-21
July 27-28
August 3 – 4
We hope that you will spend time touring Agawam, meeting our staff and other campers, and seeing the Camp program in action.
We ask camper families to wait to visit until the third weekend of the season so that campers will have time to settle into the Agawam routine. In addition, the final weekend before Camp closes is not an official visiting weekend. While there are special end of season events to which we invite camper families like the Final Council Fire/Grand Council (Saturday, August 10 at 7:oopm) and Final Vespers and Final Weekly Awards Ceremony (Sunday, August 11 at 10:00am), there are other events during the weekend that are just for the campers and staff as we come to the end of the camp season.
Guidelines for Visiting
Campers may leave Camp with their parents/guardians for two days (Saturday and Sunday) during the camp season but must be back in Camp each evening. On Saturday, boys should be back in Camp by 6:45pm to get ready for Council Fire. Visitors are welcome to attend Council Fire. Boys who leave camp on a Sunday should be back in camp by 5:30pm for dinner and evening activities.
Arrival at Agawam
Visitors are welcome to visit on Saturday and Sunday after 9:30am so that boys can complete their cabin clean-up responsibilities. If you arrive in the area on Friday, you are welcome to stop by for a quick visit on Friday afternoon between 4:30pm and 5:15pm.
