Campers took time to write and create drawings describing their experiences at the 46th Main Idea. Check out their great work below.

Riflery by Kai S.

It all started when I woke up. I heard the trumpet blow and I got right up and made my bed. After that I got dressed and put my shoes on. I ran outside and played tether ball.

Tether ball is about wrapping a ball tied to rope stuck to a piece of wood in the ground.

After that we went to get breakfast. We had sausage and French toast, it tasted really good. After, I checked our schedule and we had woodshop and Riflery, which was fun! I won’t tell you about woodshop but I will tell you though that Riflery was really cool. The thing I like about it was the guns. They are different but fun. I used one and it was cool. I got two bulls-eyes and it was fun.

What Agawam Means to Me by Tim H.

What Agawam means to me is mainly the community of friends it gives because those friends can turn into your second family after just your first year at camp. Many have loved the experience of making great friends they might not have made at home. But to most, they will come again and again and make their way from camper to counselor. They will remember their surroundings and where they dream to be over the off-season. They will make this camp a home away from home.

Archery by Aedan L.

Today I went to Archery. I hit two nines, two ones, one six, one five and one eight. All of these numbers are on the target. I had a lot of fun.

Soccer by Jacob N.

At Camp Agawam, there are a lot of activities to do. My favorite activity here at Agawam is Soccer because I already play and I enjoy it. At Agawam I have the time to work on what I am having trouble doing so I can improve my skills.

New people at Agawam should do Soccer for an activity because it’s a game you can play with friends and can play on a team with a friend or friends. Some games we play are World Cup and scrimmages. Some soccer skills that people could work on are working on the weaker foot, shooting, working on soccer moves, juggling or whatever else you want to work on.

Windsurfing by Sam A.

One of my favorite activities at Agawam is Windsurfing. It is one of the best activities at Agawam because of how fun it is. It takes a while to learn but you can master it by the end of the week. Windsurfing allows you to go fast or slow depending on what you like. When you start, you fall in the water, but it is easy to get back on. If you fall off you float because you have a PFD on. If can get a chance to go windsurfing, I would recommend it.

Woodshop by Cam L.

My favorite activity at Agawam is Woodshop. I like Woodshop because I can use my own creativity and I can continue my work with my grandfather at his woodshop. I always say that creativity is a path to success. The first thing I made at Agawam was cutting a piece of wood, making a puzzle piece, sanding it, then making a shave inside it.

You should go to Woodshop because you can make lots of objects. Also, before I came to Camp Agawam, I did some Woodshop with my grandfather.
