The Hiawatha Society recognizes alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends who have established planned gift arrangements with Agawam or included Agawam in their estate plans. There is no minimum gift, and there are many ways to join. All are welcome!!
Here are some quotes from current members of the Hiawatha Society:
Agawam has been part of my life for over 30 years. It is strong community that is built on an inspired mission with strong, lasting values. The Hiawatha Society allows me to play a small part in sustaining Agawam so the great work done by the organization can continue into the future.
Our estate planning reflects a final “thank you” to institutions which had a major impact both on our lives and those of our children. Agawam was on our initial list and was one of three remaining at the end of the day.
There are a variety of ways to invest in Agawam’s future with a planned gift:
- Include Agawam Council in a will or estate plan.
- Name Agawam Council as a beneficiary of a charitable lead trust, life insurance policy, retirement plan, or mutual fund.
- Establish a life income gift such as pooled-income fund or charitable remainder trust. Charitable gift annuities can be arranged through Agawam’s partnership with the Maine Community Foundation.
If you are interested in joining the Hiawatha Society, establishing a charitable gift annuity or have questions, please contact “Guide” Aric Walton (guide@campagawam.org or (207) 627-4780)
Thank you for considering an investment in Agawam’s future!
