At the August 2017 Agawam Council Board meeting, “Commodore” Bob Gregg was named as a Director Emeritus of Agawam Council, in recognition of his many years of dedicated loyalty, service, and leadership given to Camp Agawam and the Agawam Council.

Proclamation

WHEREAS, The Agawam Council by-laws provide for the naming of Directors Emeriti
in recognition of their exemplary service to Agawam; and

WHEREAS, Commodore Gregg served as the Council’s sixth president from 1993 – 1997.
Commodore is the only Council president to have served a four-year term, during which he oversaw
the Council’s first capital campaign and the construction of Mason Hall; and

WHEREAS, Commodore, with the help of his family and many members of the Agawam community,
established the Mary W. Gregg Endowment for Leadership Enrichment. As of the January 2017 board
meeting, the fund’s balance was $224,725; and

WHEREAS, Commodore, together with his wife Mary, led the charge on organizing the first Agawam
Reunion, and set the standard which guides the way these events have been structured ever since; and

WHEREAS, Commodore’s involvement with the Agawam Council goes back to its inception and includes
decades of service to the Governance Committee and Plant Committee, which he chaired during a
period of significant progress; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Peter Mason, on behalf of the Agawam Council Board of Directors, do hereby honor
Commodore Bob Gregg as a Director Emeritus of Agawam Council, in recognition of his many years of
dedicated loyalty, service, and leadership given to Camp Agawam and the Agawam Council.
